Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) will install Wi-Fi devices at ten important places including Shaheb Bazar in the city to provide internet connection to the people.
City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton revealed this while addressing the closing and certificate-giving ceremony of a mobile game and application related training at Rajshahi College auditorium in the city yesterday as chief guest. Large number of youths took part in the training.
“We will furthermore promote, foster and expand the internet connectivity in the city within near future” Liton further said and urged the young generation to use the opportunities for good purposes.
State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Polok addressed the meeting as special guest. He said “We will work more in four fields like human resource development, internet, providing civic services through online and promotion of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industries”.
He said the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is interested to transform the Rajshahi city into a silicon city like the Silicon Valley.
The state minister urged the youths to build themselves competent to face the existing challenges related to employment. “You have to be attentive towards founding prosperous Bangladesh facing the drug-addiction and terrorism like challenges.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader the ceremony was addressed, among others, by Principal of Rajshahi College Prof Habibur Rahman and city unit vice-president of Bangabandhu Research Council Dr Anika Fariha Zaman.
