The first nor’wester of 2019 lashed Dhaka this evening, reminding citizens of the approaching season of Baishakh.
Locally known as Kalboishakhi, the nor’wester struck down around 6:00pm with with heavy winds and thundershowers.
During this time, winds with speed of upto 74kmph was recorded by Bangladesh Meteorological Department, an official said.
According to Met office, similar nor’westers are likely to sweep throughout the country in the next two to three days.
Previously, the office had warned citizens of the likelihood of nor’westers throughout the first half of the month of April.
