Dhaka slum catches fire

A fire which broke out at a slum in Dhaka’s Bhashantek area early Thursday has been doused, reports UNB.

No causality was reported till filling of this report around 8:30am, said Ataur Rahman, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense control room in Dhaka.

The fire broke out around 1:36am and spread soon, he added.

On information, 21 firefighting units went to the spot and extinguished the blaze around 3:00am.

However, the origin of the fire could not be known yet, the official said.
